Third Anniversary of the Kalundewa
Home Owner Association

The Habitat Home Owners of Kalundewa Matale celebrated the third anniversary of their Home Owner Association. The day’s program was started with “Buddha Pooja” offering flowers to the Lord Buddha thanking and praising for the graces they have received through Habitat for Humanity. Building houses in Kalundewa was started in a very small way in 2005 with just 09 families and today the number has increased up to 34 families.

The Grama Sevaka (Government officer) of Kalundewa thanked Habitat in a very special way for the efforts taken to eradicate poverty housing and empower the rural folk. Kalundewa Home Owner Association is one of the strongest communities formed by Habitat Matale. Mr.W.H.K.D. Dissanayake the president of the H.O. association in his speech requested Habitat to support in building a community hall for their gatherings. At present the meetings are held in the temple premises.

The Habitat officials of Matale HRC also participated in the event.
